Good morning, my dear judges. I'm number 1 candidate. It's my great honor to be here to share my teaching ideas with you. My topic is “Unit 3 What would you like? ”. My presentation will consist of the following aspects:

1.Analysis of teaching materials

The unit is from PEP English book, the first semester of grade 5. It is the reading part of this unit.The topic of this unit is about favorite food , This lesson has a close relationship with the students’ everyday life. Through the study of this lesson, students will be able to use some simple English expressions to talk about their favorite food in their daily life and feel the charm of learning English.

2.Analysis of students

Our students in Grade 5 are active and curious, interested in new things.After learning English for 2 years, they have accumulated some basic English knowledge, so the teacher should attach more importance to the communication with them, providing them more chances of using the target language.

3. Analysis of teaching aims

According to the English curriculum standard, teaching material and students, I set the following teaching aims:

1)Knowledge aims: Students can review and write the words such as “chicken,vegetables” and the sentence structure “What would you like to eat?My favorite food is...”

2)Ability aims: Students' reading and writing ability can be improved after class. Students can express their favorite food by using the learned language.

3)Emotional aims: Students learn to have a healthy eating habit and have more confidence in English learning.

4.Analysis of teaching key points and difficult points

The key points are to master the meaning of the words such as “chicken,vegetables”and the sentence pattern “What would you like to eat?My favorite food is...”

The difficult point is how to write their favorite food correctly .

5.Analysis of teaching methods and learning methods

I’ll mainly use “Task-based teaching method.”and “Situational teaching approach ” That is to say, I will present some tasks for students and let students to learn the language while doing the tasks. And I will also create a situation for students to learn the text. I think in this way, students can get a better understanding of the target language.

I want my students to learn in a cooperative way. I will design some pair work or group work for them to learn the target knowledge in the communication and cooperation.

6.Analysis of teaching aids

In order to catch students attention, making my teaching effective and interesting, I prepare some teaching-aids to assist my teaching. They are.multimedia and pictures

7.Analysis of teaching procedures

Next, I'll describe the most important parts of my teaching design—the teaching procedures.

Step 1 Warming up and lead-in

At the beginning of the class, I will invite students to sing a song together. Then I will do a revision of what they have learned before with students, I will divide them into two groups and do a speed quiz. I flash some pictures about food on the PPT and ask students to speak them out quickly. The group can be rewarded if they can get more answers.

By doing this, I can create a better English learning atmosphere and activate students interests to take part in the class activities. Besides, revision of words about food can pave the way for the next reading.

Step 2 Presentation

Activity 1

I will tell students Robin will cook for us,someone has told Robin what he likes and guide them to have a look. Then students are required to read the text first time and to circle the food they can find in the text.

Activity 2

After the first reading, students are required to read the text again to answer the questions:

1; What's Yifan's favorite food

2, What's Grandpa's favorite food

3 What can they both eat?

They can tick the answers on the text.

Reading tasks of different levels can not only enable students to master knowledge about food better while doing tasks but learn how to get information from the passage correctly.
